Morocco’s Flag Carrier to re-open Casablanca-Sao Paulo direct air link on Dec. 7

Morocco’s carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced that it will re-open the Casablanca- Sao Paulo direct air link starting from December 7, 2024 with three weekly flights.

The announcement was made while Brazilian Foreign Affairs Minister Mauro Vieira was visiting Rabat.

Flights from Casablanca to Brazilian Sao Paulo will take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while return flights will take off from Sao Paulo on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, RAM said in a press release.

“We are very happy to re-launch the direct Casablanca-Sao Paulo air route, suspended since the health crisis. It is part of our development plan and will allow us to strengthen our network on the long-haul and mark our return to the Latin American continent,” the company’s CEO Hamid Addou was quoted in the press release as saying.

“This line will make the movement of tourists and businessmen on both continents easier, while meeting the expectations of European tourists who want to program combined travels in Africa and Latin America,” he added.

The re-opening of this line connecting the Moroccan and Brazilian economic and financial capitals meets the growing demand from businessmen and tourists on both sides of the Atlantic.

It will contribute to strengthening the links between Morocco and Brazil, two long-standing partners whose diplomatic and economic relations grew stronger during recent years.

The relaunch of this service is also part of Royal Air Maroc’s efforts to support the Kingdom’s projects, in particular the major global sporting event to be organized by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, the 2030 Football World Cup.

Brazilians, known for being football lovers, will be able to travel easily and comfortably with Royal Air Maroc, between Sao Paulo and the three countries organizing the World Cup, via the airline’s hub in Casablanca.

Direct flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner new generation planes, offering the highest level of comfort and security while fostering a reduced carbon footprint.
