Morocco deploys “Marhaba Operation” to facilitate diaspora’s return home for summer holidays
The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity launched this Wednesday the “Marhaba Operation” 2024 destined to facilitate the return home of Moroccans living abroad for their annual summer holidays.
Some 1400 persons have been mobilized to ensure success to this annual operation to last until Sept.15. The Foundation’s executives, social workers, doctors, paramedical staff as well as volunteers are deployed to listen to members of the Moroccan community living abroad, assist them and provide them with necessary support.
Twenty-four Marhaba Reception Sites have been opened in Europe and Morocco to provide the inbound travelers social assistance and medical care services, said the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in a press release.
Eighteen spaces are operational in Morocco. They are located in the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima and Nador, in the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat – Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Marrakech Menara and Tanger Ibn Battouta, in the Mediterranean, Jebha, Tazaghine and Smir M’Diq Rest Areas as well as at the Bab Sebta and Mellilia border crossings.
Abroad, six Marhaba spaces are located at the European ports of Genoa (Italy), Sète and Marseille (France), Motril, Almeria and Algeciras (Spain).
The humanitarian services available in the Marhaba sites are supported by a Central Coordination Office which provides Marhaba telephone assistance, monitors the daily activity of the operation and ensures that requests are properly handled.
