Arab Leaders commend Morocco’s role at Al Quds Committee
Arab leaders lauded Morocco’s role, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, in supporting the actions of AL Quds committee, which endeavors to safeguard the authentic civilizational character of Jerusalem and help its Palestinian inhabitants.
Following their summit in Manama, Arab Leaders thanked Morocco for contributing to raising the capital of AL Quds and Al Aqsa mosque fund by 12 million dollars.
The Summit was marked by an Arab call for sending UN peacekeepers to the occupied Palestinian territories and condemned Israel’s obstruction of ceasefire efforts.
They underlined, in the Final Declaration, the need to deploy “International protection and peacekeeping forces of the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territories” until a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict is implemented.
“We stress the need to stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip immediately, withdraw the Israeli occupation forces from all areas of the Strip [and] lift the siege imposed on it,” said the Final Declaration.
Some 35,200 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the war started seven months ago. Approximately 600,000 people have fled the area, according to the UN.
