Spain’s PM underlines “excellence” of cooperation relations with Morocco
Spain’s President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, stressed on Wednesday at the Congress of Deputies the “excellence” of cooperation relations with Morocco in all areas, saying that his last visit to the North African Kingdom, last February, gave a new momentum to bilateral ties.
“We enjoy excellent cooperation with Morocco, particularly in the fight against terrorism, illegal immigration, and mafias involved in human trafficking,” said Sánchez during the plenary session of Spain’s Lower House.
He noted that this cooperation also extends to the cultural and sporting fields, as illustrated by ”the development of the Cervantes Institute network in Morocco and the organization of the Football World Cup with Morocco and Portugal in 2030.”
Sánchez also welcomed the “improvement” in security, financial and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
“We are the leading commercial supplier to Morocco, which is an interesting growth platform for Spanish companies, where major projects are being developed in renewable energies, water management, infrastructure and transport,” he said. “Morocco’s prosperity will be reflected in our prosperity,” he insisted.
