US ranking lists Morocco among nations with World’s best roads
Morocco was ranked among the top 16 countries with the world best road network following a study by a New Jersey based media.
With a mean speed score of 95, Morocco was ranked as the 16 country with the world’s best roads, said the media InsideMonkey.com in a study that looks at the world’s 20 best road networks.
Morocco “allocates a major portion of the national budget for the maintenance of roads. The quality of rural roads has also been improved in Morocco,” it said.
Morocco’s motorway network is now 2,000 km long, connecting all cities with more than 400,000 inhabitants. This network is expected to span 3,000 km by 2030, as noted by King Mohammed VI in a message addressed to the 4th Africa Investment Forum held this week in Marrakech.
The US topped the ranking, followed by Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and France.
