Huge march in Rabat, other cities in solidarity with Gaza
Thousands of Moroccans marched Sunday in down-town Rabat in solidarity with Palestine, and in protest of the deterioration of the situation and the ongoing military action in the Gaza Strip.
During the march, participants expressed the Moroccan people’s commitment to defending the Palestinian cause and the legitimate and just rights of the Palestinian people.
Men and women, elderly and children all took to the street to express solidarity with the Gaza inhabitants, carrying Palestinian flags and chanting pro-palestinian slogans.
Many of the demonstrators signed a petition, stating that Moroccans denounce what is happening in Palestine and call the international community to intervene and put an end to the killings and displacement of innocent people.
Stands were available for children who could draw and express their Solidarity with Palestine in their own way.
Similar demonstrations were staged in different Moroccan cities.
On Saturday, several Moroccan politicians and civil society activists gathered in front of the Palestinian embassy to express their full support and solidarity with Palestine. Palestinian ambassador to Rabat was present at the gathering.
So far, over 2,700 Palestinian civilians, including 700 children, have been killed and almost 10,000 have been injured.
