Lome-based BOAD provides $15.3m credit facility for Golden Tulip Akwaba hotel project in Côte d’Ivoire
The West African Development Bank – BOAD- has provided $15.3 million credit facility for Golden Tulip Akwaba hotel project in the Ivorian economic capital Abidjan, whose foundation was laid in December last year.
The bank announced the credit facility this week adding that the loan will be used to build and exploit the future infrastructure.
The project, owned by French Louvre Hotels Group, is estimated at about $100 million. Golden Tulip Akwaba per the blue print is a 16-story building that will feature a hotel with 205 keys, offices and business spaces.
The future hotel will be one of the major ones in terms of capacities in Côte d’Ivoire. Sofitel Hotel Ivoire is the largest with 426 keys.
The project is in line with Louvre Hotels Group’s expansion plan on the African continent. The hotels group, the second largest in Europe, is already present in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and other countries.
