Grenade explosion in Mali kills five people including two Russians

A grenade explosion killed Tuesday two Russian instructors, two Malian soldiers as well as a civilian in the city of Segou, central Mali, reports say.
“There was an accident at the Tam-Tam bar in Segou. A Russian instructor mishandled a grenade and there was an explosion. Two Russians were killed. The incident also killed a civilian”, a security source in the city told the media.
A lawmaker of the region also indicated that two Malian soldiers were slain in the incident. Mali joggling with terrorism and security since 2012, has shifted partnership and turned to Russia for support at the expense of former colonial power France.
The West African country has been accused by France and several western countries for recruiting Russia-backed paramilitary security company Wagner. Monday, six soldiers were killed in an ambush near capital Bamako.
