Tunisia: Kais Saied fires Gabes governor

Tunisia’s President Kais Saied Thursday fired the governor of the Southeastern governorate of Gabes after the state official has been indicted for “illegal actions.”

Mosbah Kardamine was appointed Gabes Governor in June 2021 in replacement of Mongi Thameur also fired by Saied.

Prior to the announcement of the dismissal, a first presidential decree indicated that Kardamine has been indicted by the ministry of justice for several “illegal actions” he allegedly carried out.
