Greek Mytilineos contemplates investments in solar, battery storage projects in Egypt

Mytilineos, a Greece-based industrial conglomerate whose business units are active in the sectors of metallurgy and energy, is planning to inject investment in Egypt in the areas of construction of solar power plants, storage batteries, new and renewable energy, oil, natural gas, infrastructure and sustainable engineering solutions, Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones said in a statement on Thursday.

 

It is unknown how much the company is planning to invest, however, the statement came following a meeting between Hossam Heiba, Executive Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and representatives of the Greek Mytilineos.

 

Founded in 1990, Mytilineos is a global company that is leading in the fields of energy and industry and has a large presence in the five continents. Its activity is focused on two major sectors, energy and minerals.
