Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, commended the efforts made by King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, to defend Al Quds and support the Palestinian cause.

Ibrahim Taha made the remarks during a meeting earlier this week in Jeddah with a delegation from Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, led by Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, director in charge of the management of the Agency, on the sidelines of the 2nd meeting of government experts.

During this meeting, which was devoted to discussing the modalities of cooperation between the OIC and the Agency to expand efforts to support the city of Al Quds and back the resistance of its people, Brahim Taha stressed the importance of the role played by the Agency as the executive arm of the Al Quds Committee, emphasizing the need to continue to implement the resolutions calling on member states to support its budget and programs.

He reaffirmed, in this regard, the willingness of the OIC General Secretariat to strengthen its cooperation with the Agency in order to facilitate its tasks and mobilize more financial resources and technical expertise to contribute to the implementation of its projects in the Holy City of Al Quds.

The OIC Secretary General stressed the importance of convening regular meetings to shed light on the work of the Agency, review its projects in Al Quds and encourage member states to provide the necessary support, in accordance with the laws and regulations that govern its work.

For his part, Cherkaoui surveyed the actions and achievements of the Agency in the Holy City of Al Quds, under the high directives of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee.
