King Mohammed VI sends messages to presidents of Djibouti, Somalia

The President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, received Wednesday in the Djiboutian capital royal envoy Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, who handed him a written message from King Mohammed VI.

In a statement to the press after the audience, Bensaid, who is Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, said that the royal message he delivered to President Ismail Omar Guelleh is about bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in all areas.

Bensaid added that this audience was an opportunity to reaffirm the depth of historical relations between Morocco and Djibouti, which are strong and excellent.

Bilateral relations between Rabat and Djibouti, marked by mutual respect and multi-faceted cooperation, were also reviewed during the audience, added the Minister who stressed that cooperation in all areas will continue between the two countries thanks to the willingness of the two Heads of State to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

On Tuesday, Benasid was in Mogadishu where he handed the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, a written message from King Mohammed VI.

The audience provided an opportunity to review bilateral relations between Somalia and Morocco, with particular emphasis on the need to raise these relations to higher levels.

In a statement to the press after the audience, Bensaïd underlined the distinguished quality of relations between the two countries, noting that Morocco has always stood by Somalia and its brotherly people.

The Minister reaffirmed the willingness of the leaders of both countries to enhance bilateral action and coordination at the level of all regional and international mechanisms.

Bensaïd added that Morocco is willing to share its experience in all fields with the Republic of Somalia.
