Launch of Warsaw-Marrakech new air connection
A new air route between Warsaw and Marrakech was launched this Monday, as part of the development of tourist exchanges between Morocco and Poland.
Two weekly flights, every Monday and Friday, operated by low-cost airline “Wizzair”, will connect Warsaw Chopin and Marrakech Menara airports, a statement from Morocco’s Embassy in Poland said.
This new air connection, which meets the demands of the Moroccan community settled in Poland, will strengthen the flow of tourists between the two countries, and contribute thus to the development of economic exchanges.
A delegation of 16 Polish journalists boarded the inaugural flight. They will participate in guided tours in Marrakech and Essaouira.
The launch of the new air link is the culmination of a partnership between the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe.
In 2019, nearly 87,000 Polish tourists and over 110,000 tourists from Eastern Europe visited Morocco. These figures are expected to increase significantly in the coming months and years, the statement concluded.
