Rabat & Berlin agree on €242 Mln cooperation program for 2023
Morocco and Germany have agreed on a €242 million cooperation program to be carried out in 2023, focusing on green energy, sustainable economy, employment and reforms.
The joint program has been unveiled following talks held Oct.18-19 in Berlin between the two countries which turned a new page in their relations after resolving their diplomatic row over the Sahara.
During the Berlin talks, Morocco and Germany hailed their excellent new relations and welcomed the messages exchanged between President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and King Mohammed VI, stressing the importance of establishing a multi-dimensional partnership oriented towards the future.
Germany has reiterated, on this occasion, its strong backing to the reforms carried out by Morocco for a more open and dynamic Moroccan society and economy, citing in this regard the New Development Model and the advanced regionalization program.
In a joint statement, Berlin has also reaffirmed its supportive stand of the “serious and credible” autonomy plan presented by Morocco in 2007, saying it offers a good basis for reaching a political solution to the Sahara regional conflict.
Morocco and Germany have also agreed to look into triangular cooperation prospects in their partnership and continue implementing their joint programs already underway.
