Egypt Monday announced its readiness to supply Lebanon with natural gas, once the procedures related to starting exporting Egyptian gas and receiving it in Lebanese territories were completed.
Tariq Mullah, Minister of Oil and Minerals of Egypt made the announcement as he received Walid Fayad, the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water.
Mullah also indicated Egypt’s constant readiness to provide all aspects of support, assistance and experiences to the Lebanese brothers in various petroleum activities within the framework of the relations and lasting ties that unite the two countries and support the ongoing political leadership for relations with sister Lebanon, a statement from his ministry said.
Lebanon is currently facing an energy shortage owing to the economic and financial crisis which erupted in October 2019.
The energy crisis has left many cities and villages struggling with darkness.
