Morocco & Saudi Arabia want to foster further economic partnership

Morocco and Saudi Arabia are looking into ways of stepping up economic partnership and trade exchanges in a bid to match the excellent relationship existing between the two countries’ Monarchs, governments and peoples.

Cooperation prospects in various sectors of common interests were at the center of separate talks held Monday in Rabat by visiting Saudi minister of Commerce Majid Bin Abdullah Al Qasabi with several senior Moroccan officials.

He met with Head of Govt. Aziz Khannouch. Talks focused on the Moroccan-Saudi brotherly relationship and ways of giving a new impetus to bilateral trade.

He also conferred with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on bilateral relations, latest developments on the regional and international scene and several other issues of common concern.

The Saudi minister met the same day with Moroccan minister of agriculture & fisheries Mohammed Sadiki. The two parties expressed readiness strengthen partnership in the fields of agriculture & agribusiness, the promotion of investments in agriculture and technical cooperation in date palm tree growing and desalination.

Morocco’s main agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia include citrus fruits, sugar, canned olives, tomatoes, processed cheese, semolina and vegetables, while its imports consist mainly of dates, biscuits and pasta.
