Two new books highlight preeminence of Morocco-proposed Autonomy Initiative

A ceremony was held on Wednesday in Rabat to present two new books by the Coalition for the Autonomy of the Sahara (AUSACO), entitled “Rethinking the Sahara Dispute: History and Contemporary Perspectives” and “The Moroccan Sahara: Polemological Contours and Irenological Perspectives”.

The ceremony, held on the occasion of Throne Day to be celebrated this month, provided an opportunity to highlight the relevance of the autonomy initiative as the only solution to the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

This event was organized by the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco in partnership with the National Commission of International Humanitarian Law and the AUSACO.

The first book is a collection of eleven articles in English edited by French journalist Jérôme Besnard, which cover all aspects of the Moroccan Sahara issue and draw on the views of historians, sociologists, geo-politicians, diplomats, security officials, and experts in strategic studies.

The second book written by researcher and expert on conflict and mediation issues at the University of Yaoundé (Cameroon), Alphonse Zozime Tamekamta, focuses on the issues surrounding the Moroccan Sahara and their impact on the development of the African continent.
