Vice Pdt. Kamala Harris Thanks Morocco’s King for Hosting U.S.-Africa Business Summit

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has thanked King Mohammed VI and the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) for hosting the U.S.-Africa Business Summit which opened on 19 July in Marrakech.

Addressing, remotely, participants in the summit from Washington D.C., the American Vice-President said: “I would like to thank the Corporate Council on Africa, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Kingdom of Morocco for hosting the 2022 U.S.-Africa Business Summit” .

In her virtual remarks, Vice President Kamala Harris also said she is honored to participate in the opening ceremony of the Marrakesh summit held this year under the theme: “Building Forward Together”.

“President Joe Biden and I recognize the critical importance of strengthening our relationship with countries across Africa”, underlined Mrs. Kamala Harris, highlighting how the U.S. through “Prosper Africa” initiative drives investments that advances shared prosperity.

The U.S. Vice-President also availed this opportunity to invite leaders from across the African continent to attend the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit due in Washington on December 13-15, 2022.

The Summit, she said, will demonstrate the United States’ enduring commitment to Africa, and underscore the importance of U.S.-Africa relations and increased cooperation on shared global priorities.
