Morocco relocates 1156 households as it battles wildfires

As wildfires continue to wreak havoc in Morocco’s north, authorities relocate 1156 households away from the blaze in the area of Laarach, while firefighting efforts in the land and air tirelessly continue to battle wildfires.

 

In total, more than 1500 hectares have been destroyed by the fires in the regions of Taza, Ouazzane, Chaouen and Laarach.

 

A burned body was found while many cattle has been lost due to the mass blaze.

 

Moroccan authorities deployed Canadair water bombers as firefighting units struggle to contain the blaze.
