Tunisia: Probe launched into gas explosion at Interior Minister’s residence

Tunisia’s Justice Ministry has commissioned an investigation into causes of a gas explosion at the house of Interior Minister Taoufik Charefeddine, Webdo Tunis reports.

An explosion rocked the Minister’s house on Monday. The authorities blamed gas leak as cause of the blast.

The explosion took place in the kitchen, the interior ministry said in a statement. The minister’s spouse has sustained minor injuries and was transferred to hospital for treatment while Charefeddine was unhurt.

The Justice Minister has assigned an anti-crime brigade to investigate the causes of the explosion.
