Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is set to visit Tunisia this Tuesday at the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied to discuss the Palestinian cause.

Abbas and Saied, according to the Palestinian top diplomat Riyad Al Maliki, will exchange views and discuss developments on the Palestinian cause.

Abbas is coming from Algeria where he started a regional tour amid growing presence of Israel in the region, in the wake of ties normalization between Tel Aviv, Rabat and Khartoum.

Both Algeria and Tunisia have ruled out to establish diplomatic ties with Israel.

Abbas is also expected to inaugurate a new building for the Palestinian embassy in capital Tunis.
