Morocco reiterates call for two-state solution
Morocco called on Israelis and Palestinians to work together for a peaceful and lasting solution based on two-states living in peace side by side.
The call was made by Morocco’s foreign minister Nasser Bourita at a press conference marking the visit of his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid to Morocco.
During the visit the two ministers signed three cooperation deals and discussed the latest developments in the region.
“His Majesty the King has on multiple occasions reaffirmed the need to leave the state of lethargy and intransigence in order to facilitate the resumption of negotiations as the sole way to reach a final, lasting and comprehensive solution based on the establishment of two states living side by side in peace,” said Bourita.
Bourita urged for efforts to restore trust between all parties and for refraining from fueling tensions in order to open political prospects for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Lapid is paying a two-day visit to Morocco during which he inaugurated the new headquarters of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat.
