South Korea’s Vice-FM will visit Morocco, key manufacturing hub & gateway for exports

First Vice-Foreign minister of South Korea Choi Jong-kun will visit Morocco this week to discuss with Moroccan officials ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in various sectors including health, education, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

The announcement was made by the South Korean Foreign ministry in a press release issued Thursday, saying that Choi’s trip to Morocco is part of an African tour that includes stops in Senegal and Nigeria.

The week-long African tour, to start on Aug.14, is destined to bolster Korea’s cooperation ties with its key partners in Northern and Western Africa.

During this trip which comes after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, the Korean minister will meet senior African officials, visit projects funded by the Korean government and attend meetings with Korean businessmen operating in the three African countries.

According to South Korean Foreign Department, talks of Mr. Choi in Morocco and Senegal will focus on ways of expanding bilateral and multilateral exchanges and cooperation, while in Nigeria, maritime security cooperation in the Gulf of Guinea will be discussed among other projects.
