Morocco receives new batch of Sinopharm vaccines

Morocco received a new shipment of Chinese anti-coronavirus vaccines, from Sinopharm, as a RAM plane landed at Casablanca Airport Tuesday coming from Beijing.

According to sources from the health authorities, this shipment consists of 2 million doses, which means that Morocco will be able to vaccinate another one million people in the coming weeks.

This shipment coincides with Morocco’s expansion of the vaccination campaign in the country, to include the young people category aged between 35 and 39.

It is expected that the health authorities will work to expand the circle of beneficiaries of the vaccine, to include other categories of young people under the age of 35 in the coming weeks.

Morocco has reached about 10 million people fully vaccinated, and it is expected to cross the ceiling of 10 million vaccinated people in the coming days.

Morocco is still the at the top of African countries in the number of vaccinated people. It was the first country in the continent to launch a vaccination campaign on January 28.
