Latest developments in Sahara issue open new era for region -Head of Finnish Party

The latest positive developments in the Sahara issue and the MENA region open up a new era for regional cooperation and a promising prospect for peace, said Head of Finnish Christian Democrats Party Sari Essayeh.

“Europe and Morocco are partners, bound by geography, culture, shared interests and history”, she added in a statement to Moroccan News Agency.

“Morocco, with its privileged relations with the European Union and its commitment to Africa, is a key regional partner that can play a major role in building a “win-win” triangular cooperation, said Sari Essayeh, who chairs the Finnish-Moroccan parliamentary friendship group.

Although relations between Rabat and Helsinki are “very good”, she stressed the need for the two countries to strengthen their cooperation ties in circular economy, e-solutions, agricultural technology, health technology and education.

Morocco can benefit from Finland’s know-how and particularly in educational technology, said the Finnish Politician, underlining the growing interest of Finnish companies to invest in the Kingdom.
