Morocco, Mauritania discuss closer educational cooperation

Moroccan and Mauritanian education ministers held talks in Rabat to examine the prospects to broaden their bilateral cooperation.

Said Amzazi and Sidi Ould Salem agreed to further strengthen ties between Moroccan and Mauritanian universities.

Over 1200 Mauritanian students pursue studies in different Moroccan universities and higher education institutions this year, Morocco’s education ministry said in a statement.

Relations between Morocco and Mauritania are poised to grow especially after a new administration took power in Nouakchott making a clean break with the outgoing presidency and its unwillingness to strengthen ties with Rabat.
