Dominican Republic joins worldwide support for Morocco against Polisario provocations
Morocco continues to gain global support for its legitimate and self-defense action made by Moroccan army to restore the free movement of people and goods in the southern border of Guerguarat zone between Morocco and Mauritania.
In this vein, the Dominican government has voiced its solidarity with the North African Kingdom and condemned the obstructions of the Polisario militiamen in the Guerguarat buffer zone in violation of UN Security Council resolutions and international law.
In his Twitter account, Foreign minister of Dominican Republic Roberto Alvarez reaffirmed his country’s supportive stand with Morocco’s action and touts friendship ties with the Kingdom and the Moroccan people.
Several Arab, European, African, Caribbean and Latin American countries have expressed support and solidarity with the Moroccan move, decried the blockade of traffic in Guerguarat by the Algeria-backed polisario militias, which threatens regional stability, and praised Morocco’s commitment to the 1991 UN-sponsored ceasefire agreement.
