Africa’s largest University Hospital to open in Morocco’s Tangier
Tangier is preparing for the opening of a university hospital with a capacity of 865 beds, the largest in the African continent.
The hospital, worth 1.3 billion dirhams ($130 million), will help alleviate pressure on the northern regions hospitals.
Already 93% of works are completed, auguring well for Tangier, which has been one of the hardest hit Moroccan cities by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tangier is Morocco’s second largest industrial hub. Its population has increased in tandem with the large-scale investments it has attracted in terms of industry, services and transports.
