Canada’s Aya Company to expand Moroccan silver mine of Zgounder
Canadian mining company Aya Gold & Silver has launched lately the feasibility study for the expansion of the Moroccan Zgounder Silver Mine, near Ouarzazate.
AYA says the expansion of its operations in the Moroccan mine will help the company increase its production targeting 2,000tpd. “The strong silver fundamentals as well as our planned drilling exploration program gives us confidence in growing the resource and the expansion potential of the Zgounder Silver Mine”, says the Canadian corporation.
AYA is currently operating mining and milling facilities at Zgounder Silver Mine, an 85%-15% joint venture between its subsidiary, ZMSM, and the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (“ONHYM”) of Morocco.
Its mining portfolio also includes the Boumadine polymetallic deposit located in the Anti-Atlas Mountains of Eastern Morocco, which is also a joint venture with ONHYM wherein AYA retains an 85% ownership.
