Covid-19: EU lists Morocco as safe country for travel

The EU deemed Morocco a safe country to fly to in view of its efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

Morocco maintained its status following a regular two-week review of the list from which the US, Serbia and Montenegro were chalked off earlier this month.

Algeria was the latest country the EU scrapped from the safe countries’ list.

Brussels has excluded people from Algeria from traveling into the EU amid a rise in coronavirus cases in the North African country.

Besides Morocco, the few countries currently deemed safe are: Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Tunisia and Uruguay.

On Thursday, Morocco had 23259 cases including 346 deaths and 17311 recoveries. The country has tested 1.3 million people so far.
