Towards harmonization of Moroccan & EU economic, competition laws

Morocco and the European Union will conduct a joint study on the harmonization of Moroccan and EU economic and competition laws.

A partnership in this regard will be concluded between the Moroccan Competition Council and the EU delegation in Morocco, the council said in a statement at the end of its fourth ordinary session.

The partnership also provides for materializing the twinning of the Council with one of the national competition bodies of the European Union, and the joint organization of a symposium on the impact of the digital revolution in the field of trade on the economy and competition law in Morocco and Europe.

An EU Delegation took part in the fourth ordinary session of the competition council.

The fourth ordinary session Council discussed the broad lines of its 2019-2023 action plan, which covers national and international cooperation, including the signing of a cooperation charter between the Competition Council and Bank Al Maghrib.

Part of the action plan, the Council will organize, in partnership with the National Commission for Personal Data Protection, a national conference on “Competition law and personal data protection”.
