Ethiopian & Kenyan Runners Dominate Dakhla’s International 10-KM Road Race
Ethiopian athlete Haji Hayato Yasin won on Sunday the 2nd international 10-KM road race of Dakhla which attracted more than 700 elite and amateur runners from Morocco and abroad.
Haji Hayato ran the race in 27 minutes 48 seconds, smashing the timing set during the first edition (28:30).
Kenyan Kosguei Lawi finished second clocking 27 minutes 52 second, advancing his countryman Kiprono Kiptum Joseph who crossed the finish line in 28:03.
The Dakhla women’s race was dominated by Ethiopians.
The title was grabbed by Asefa Kasegn Alemtsehay who completed the race in 31 minutes 55 seconds, ahead of her countrywomen Ahmed Abde Aminet (31:56) and Getachew Buzunesh (31: 58).
