Spanish Gardia Civil busts drug trafficking network operating from Morocco
Spanish security forces have dismantled this week a criminal network, the most active in Andalusia, that used to import drug from Morocco.
Led by the Guardia civil and the Tributary Agency, the operation led to the seizure of more than 7,700 kilograms of hashish and the arrest of 45 people, including the head of the network nicknamed “El Tomate”.
Security forces also seized €100,000 in cash, 12 vehicles, 3,000 liters of gas for boasts, a fire arm, two motorbikes and several other items used in the dissemination of the drug.
The drug, grown in Morocco, is shipped on boats to the European country in the form of nurseries.
Once in the South, the drug is conveyed to Madrid in caletas, special vehicles for the purpose in view of avoiding notice.
Investigations started in June and authorities continue searches to fish out other key members among whom buyers and small retailers of the drug.
