Morocco, Switzerland to cooperate in rail infrastructure
Morocco and Switzerland signed an agreement to cooperate on transport infrastructure as the North African country prepares to extend the-high-speed-train link south of Casablanca.
The agreement was signed by Moroccan transport minister, Abelkader Amara, and his Swiss counterpart, Simonetta Sommaruga, Friday in Switzerland.
The Swiss minister expressed her country’s willingness to help Morocco with its experience in tunnel building and rail infrastructure.
Morocco plans to extend the high-speed-rail link south of Casablanca to Marrakech and then to Agadir and eastwards from Rabat to Oujda.
