Morocco: Japan’s Mitsui Kinzoku Act lays for door latches production plant
Mitsui Kinzoku Act Tanger Maroc SARL, subsidiary of Mitsui Kinzoku Act has launched in Tangiers the construction of its latches production plant that enables the Japanese firm to position itself closer to its European market.
The future plant located in Tangiers Free Zone Automotive City will cost the functional automobile parts manufacturer around €12.5 million.
The plant will start operations in January next year, and when the plant goes into full operation, Mitsui Kinzoku Act Tanger Maroc SARL will create 300 jobs.
The firm will manufacture and sale door latches from the 5,600-square-meter plant.
The choice of Tangiers will enable the Japanese firm to near its current clients in Europe, establish itself in the kingdom and bolster its position in the region.
Mitsui Kinzoku Act, located in Nishi-ku,Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa in Japan, was established in 2010. It develops, manufactures and sells functional components for automobiles. It currently manages close to 6,500 employees around the world.
