Spanish Molins de Rei City Refuses to Host Spain-Israel Water Polo Match
The city of Molins de Rei in Spain has refused to host a scheduled women’s water polo match between Spain and Israel after Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) activists lobbied for the event to be rejected.
The match that was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon as part of a European preliminary championship ahead of the world water polo league tournament did not go ahead, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) reports.
BDS activists succeeded to influence the city to scrap its plans to host the match.
Revital Cohen Gluska, who chairs the Israeli Water polo Association, confirmed she was informed about the city’s decision, MEMO adds.
