Morocco’s Exports to EU Grow 9.5% in 2017

Morocco’s exports to the EU grew by 9.5% in 2017 while its imports increased 7%, Eurostat said.

Spain remains Morocco’s first EU customer with 41.4% of its total exports to the EU followed by France (29.6%), Italy (6.7%), the UK (5%) and Germany (4.3%).

Spain is also Morocco’s first EU supplier accounting for 35.6%, followed by France (19.1%), Germany (9.3%), Italy (8.4%) and the Netherlands (4.5%).

Eurostat data shows that trade between Morocco and Spain totaled over €14 billion.

Between 2015 and 2016, Morocco’s imports from Spain rose from $4.4 billion to $6.2 billion, while its exports to the country jumped from $4.2 billion to $5.1 billion.
