Morocco and UN Economic & Social Commission for Western Asia have agreed to enhance cooperation in digital transformation, modernization of public administration, governance, artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation.
The agreement was inked by Mrs Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition & Administrative Reform and Mrs Rania Al-Mashat, ESCWA Executive Secretary.
The signatories pledged to enhance regional and South-South cooperation in digital governance, improve digital public services, facilitate the exchange of successful digital experiences.
They also agreed to support implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16 on effective, accountable and inclusive institutions to strengthen transparency, integrity and accountability in the public sector.
The agreement reflects Morocco & ESCWA commitment to building an effective, productive and impactful institutional partnership, one that advances the modernization of public administration and improves the quality of services provided to citizens.
The two parties voice commitment to advance partnership in digital governance to modernize public administration, promote digital transformation and support sustainable development.
Morocco aims to modernize its economy and public services through digital innovation. The country seeks to position itself as a leading digital economy in Africa and a competitive player in the global market by 2030.
