Morocco and Jordan signed an extradition agreement, strengthening judicial and legal cooperation between the two kingdoms.
The agreement was signed by Moroccan Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Jordanian counterpart, Bassam Samir Chahada Al-Talhouni, following talks focused on developing bilateral judicial collaboration, coordination, and the exchange of expertise.
The convention establishes a clear legal framework, governing extradition requests between Rabat and Amman.
It sets out procedures for handling such requests in accordance with the national legislation and legal obligations of both countries.
According to the Moroccan Ministry of Justice, the agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the competent authorities of the two nations in the fight against crime and to facilitate judicial collaboration in cases requiring close coordination.
It is also intended to consolidate the rule of law and mutual trust between Moroccan and Jordanian judicial institutions.
