The future Peruvian government is committed to supporting Morocco’s territorial integrity and its sovereignty over its Southern provinces, the Office of Peru’s President-elect Keiko Fujimori announced on Tuesday.
This stance was expressed during a meeting between the President-elect and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Peru Amin Chaoudri, who conveyed her a message of congratulations from King Mohammed VI following her election as the country’s president.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the future Peruvian government is committed to supporting the territorial integrity of Morocco and its sovereignty over its Southern provinces. Keiko Fujimori also reaffirmed her full support for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797, which recognizes the Autonomy Plan as the basis for a settlement, with a view to reaching a final solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara.
In a congratulatory message to Keiko Fujimori, King Mohammed VI had conveyed his warm congratulations to Fujimori for the trust placed in her by the Peruvian people to fulfill their aspirations towards further progress and prosperity.
In his message, the King welcomed the special bonds between Morocco and Peru, which are founded on solid friendship, mutual esteem, and shared values, and expressed his willingness to work alongside the President-elect to give new impetus to these relations towards a multidimensional partnership, in the interest of the two friendly peoples.
