Universal Music Morocco & North Africa, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment, has launched “Def Jam Recordings North Africa in Casablanca to increase access, reach, and opportunity for North African hip-hop artists on the global stage.
The newly set up entity will further expand Def Jam’s global footprint and strengthens UMG’s position in the exciting and fast-growing MENA region.
Founded in 1984, Def Jam Recordings has been at the cutting edge of hip-hop culture, playing a defining role in shaping the genre as a global cultural force and consistently championing artists whose voices are rooted in their own communities, lived experiences, and cultural realities.
