Speaking on this occasion, Director of the EU department at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the strategic importance of this partnership and praised the quality of the cooperation developed over recent years.
For his part, Director of Program Coordination at the Council of Europe, reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to continuing and deepening its cooperation with Morocco.
Participants underlined the importance of a collaborative and sustainable approach to cooperation, based on dialogue and the sharing of best practices, in order to contribute to the strengthening of institutions, democratic resilience and the rule of law.
Since the adoption of the Council of Europe Policy towards Neighboring regions by the Committee of Ministers in 2011, Morocco has been a strategic partner. This co-operation is governed by agreements, shaping political dialogue and targeting technical assistance in key priority sectors.
