Morocco’s King Performs Eid Al-Adha Prayer at ‘Ahl Fès’ Mosque in Rabat

King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and Prince Moulay Ahmed, performed the Eid Al-Adha prayer on Wednesday, 10 Dhu’l-Hijja 1447 AH, corresponding to May 27, 2026, at ‘Ahl Fès’ Mosque in Rabat.

In the sermon that followed the Eid prayer, the Imam emphasized the immeasurable blessings of the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijja for the Islamic Ummah, in accordance with the words of God: “By the Dawn! And by the ten nights!”

After recounting the story of the Prophet Sidna Ibrahim and his son Ismail, PBUT, the Imam highlighted Eid Al-Adha as the embodiment of lofty values of sacrifice, selflessness, and generosity.

The Imam concluded by imploring the Almighty to preserve the King, Commander of the Faithful, to perpetuate his glory, to reward his deeds with success for the good of his faithful people, and to bless him in the persons of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the Royal Family.

He also offered prayers for the souls of the late Sovereigns, King Mohammed V and King Hassan II.

The Monarch was then greeted by heads of Islamic diplomatic missions accredited to Morocco, who conveyed him their warm congratulations and best wishes.

Subsequently, the King performed the ritual of sacrifice, following the tradition of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him, while cannon shots resounded in celebration of this festive day.

The Imam of the mosque then proceeded to sacrifice the second sheep.

After he returned to the Royal Palace, the Monarch received best wishes from Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid.

The King then received greetings from the Head of Government; Speakers of both Houses of Parliament; the Deputy President of the Supreme Council of the Judicial Power and First President of the Court of Cassation; the President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the King’s Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation; Presidents of constitutional bodies, and several high-ranking civilian and military dignitaries.
