Rwanda President Sends Written Message to King Mohammed VI

President Paul Kagamé of Rwanda has sent a written message to King Mohammed VI. The message was handed over to minister of foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita by his Rwandan peer Olivier Nduhungirehe during a meeting held Thursday in Rabat.

During this meeting, the two ministers hailed the relations of friendship and mutual respect existing between the two Heads of State and lauded the momentum of cooperation between the two countries in security, training and sustainable development.

They discussed ways of strengthening cooperation in priority sectors, latest developments on the regional and international scene as well as several other issues of common interests.

Morocco and Rwanda have built a strong strategic partnership and a model South-South cooperation. The state visits paid in 2016 by King Mohammed VI to Kigali and by President Paul Kagame to Rabat gave a new impetus to relations between the two countries.

Rwanda supports Morocco’s territorial integrity and Autonomy Plan for the Sahara under the Kingdom’s sovereignty. Both countries maintain close diplomatic coordination at the United Nations, the African Union and other international organizations.

Bilateral investments have steadily grown across several sectors, including banking, pharmaceutical, and fertilizer industries. Moroccan enterprises have established a strong footprint in Rwanda. The two countries also cooperate in defense, security and regional peacekeeping operations.
