Morocco Records Over 109,000 New Business Registrations in 2025

Morocco’s entrepreneurial landscape showed continued vitality in 2025, with 109,656 new companies registered throughout the year, according to data published by the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC). The figures reflect sustained business creation momentum across a broad range of sectors and regions.
Of the total, 78,622 were legal entities and 31,034 were sole proprietorships. In terms of sector breakdown, commerce led with 35.7% of new registrations, followed by construction and real estate activities at 19.65%, miscellaneous services at 17.63%, transport at 7.79%, and industry at 7.01%. Hotels and restaurants accounted for 5.71% of new businesses, while ICT registered 2.89%, financial activities 1.86%, and agriculture and fishing 1.78%.
Regional distribution remains heavily concentrated along Morocco’s economic corridors. Casablanca-Settat topped the rankings with 33,959 new companies — nearly a third of the national total — followed by Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima with 15,286 and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 13,983. Marrakech-Safi came fourth with 12,342 registrations, while southern regions including Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (4,185) and Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (2,960) recorded growing entrepreneurial activity, reflecting ongoing investment under the Southern Provinces development model.
From a legal structure standpoint, single-shareholder limited liability companies — known locally as SARL-AU — dominated at 64.8% of all new registrations, with standard SARLs accounting for the remaining 34.4%. The data points to a preference for simplified incorporation frameworks among Morocco’s emerging entrepreneurs, consistent with broader efforts to reduce administrative barriers to business creation.
