Moroccan boxer beat Jesus in Germany; taekwondo player wins gold in Paris
A great battle was held Saturday Nov.16 in Halle, Germany between Moroccan boxing superstar Mohammed Rabii and Mexico’s Jesus Gurrola. The fight was crowned by the victory of the Moroccan indomitable boxer.
This victory is Rabii’s tenth pro fight success since he began his professional boxing career in 2017. The 26-year-old former world champion remains undefeated, having impressively outdone all his rivals in nine professional fights so far. Mohammed Rabii, affectionately called Morocco’s Mohammed Ali by his fans, maintains his energy in the boxing sport, adding win after win to his professional range of impressive skills and gold medals.
The International Boxing Association (AIBA) believes that Rabii is one of the biggest worldwide boxing success stories since 2015. AIBA expressed its admiration towards the young boxer who continues winning gold at the AFBC African Confederation Boxing Championships.
The win of this week-end comes nine months after Rabii’s previous fight against Polish boxer Rafal Jackiewicz in Germany in March.
In another sporting area, Moroccan taekwondo player Abdelbasset Wasfi won a gold medal at an international Taekwondo competition held in in Paris nov.15-17.
Wasfi took home the gold after defeating his rival Kosovar Arbert Azemi in a final match.
Six Moroccan female participants in the tournament won six other medals, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
Morocco ended in the fourth ranking in the competition where athletes representing 53 countries took part.
