Morocco made a prominent showing at the 60th edition of the ITB Berlin international tourism fair, deploying a 1,000-square-meter pavilion alongside leading Mediterranean destinations and using the occasion to deepen commercial partnerships and expand air connectivity with the German market.
The Moroccan pavilion, inaugurated by ONMT Director General Achraf Fayda, brought together more than 140 tourism professionals — including regional representatives, tour operators, hoteliers, and institutional stakeholders. Several regions were showcased at the event, including the Oriental, Fès-Meknès, and Souss-Massa areas, with dedicated promotion of destinations such as Agadir, Fès, and Saïdia.
Air connectivity was a central focus of Morocco’s participation. ONMT concluded agreements with Condor, Eurowings, and Discover Airlines to increase capacity on existing routes and open new connections. Royal Air Maroc simultaneously announced new services linking Nador to Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, complementing the recently launched Casablanca-Munich route. The cumulative effect is a 34 percent increase in air capacity between Morocco and Germany for the 2025-2026 season.
On the distribution side, Morocco strengthened its partnership with TUI Group and signed a strategic agreement with DER, Germany’s second-largest tour operator, targeting a 25 percent increase in sales over three years. The commercial momentum reflects strong underlying demand: over 930,000 German tourists visited Morocco in 2025, an 11 percent year-on-year rise, making Germany Morocco’s seventh-largest source market and accounting for five percent of total international arrivals.
The 60th ITB Berlin edition attracted 5,601 exhibitors from 166 countries and nearly 97,000 participants, with global travel commitments reached at the fair totaling €47 billion. Morocco’s sustained presence at the event reinforces its positioning as Africa’s leading tourism destination and its ambition to consolidate its appeal across key European source markets. The next ITB Berlin is scheduled for March 16 to 18, 2027, with the Maldives as the guest country of honor.
