They also reiterated their shared commitment to deepening the Morocco-USA strategic partnership, as set out in the 2020-2030 defense cooperation roadmap inked on October 2, 2020, in Rabat.

Seizing this opportunity, Loudyi praised the U.S. position for its unequivocal and positive support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory, as well as the constructive efforts undertaken in this context, the statement said.

He also highlighted the various South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives launched under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, turning the Kingdom into a key actor for stability and an exporter of peace and security to its neighboring countries.

The U.S. official also underlined the role played by the Kingdom, under the King’s leadership and vision, as an important stabilizing force in the face of various challenges and issues affecting regional security, and its willingness to pursue reform strategies and promote Morocco’s influence as a pivotal country for stability and peace in its neighborhood.

Talks between the US official and Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid focused on the topics and areas of military cooperation that will be examined at the next meeting of the Defense Consultative Committee, to be held in 2026 in Washington.
