Morocco’s National Agency for Public Equipment (ANEP) currently manages a portfolio of 3,062 public building construction and rehabilitation projects valued at 54 billion dirhams ($5.4 billion), according to announcements following its board of directors meeting. The agency completed 1,125 public infrastructure projects in 2025 at a cost of 25.12 billion dirhams.
Minister of Equipment and Water Nizar Baraka presided over ANEP’s ninth board session on December 22 in Rabat, where officials detailed the agency’s extensive operations. During the past year, ANEP continued work on 1,490 ongoing projects while conducting studies for an additional 447 initiatives.
The agency serves as delegated project manager for 60 public entities, including government ministries, public institutions, and officially recognized public utility associations. This delegated authority positions ANEP as the central coordinating body for Morocco’s public infrastructure development.
For 2026, the board approved the annual budget and ratified 15 new delegated project management agreements covering economically and socially significant public infrastructure initiatives. These projects span various sectors critical to Morocco’s development objectives.
ANEP’s mandate extends beyond construction oversight to include state real estate portfolio management and public building maintenance. The agency has established itself as a key technical advisor, promoting development of building standards and regulations focused on quality and safety in public construction.
The organization actively champions energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, local material utilization, and environmental protection in building projects. Drawing on nearly half a century of accumulated expertise, ANEP ensures public infrastructure projects meet stringent quality, safety, and sustainability requirements while controlling costs and timelines.
The agency’s comprehensive approach positions it as Morocco’s primary vehicle for delivering public infrastructure that serves the nation’s modernization and development goals.
