NATO Defense College: Morocco, Strategic & Trusted Partner

NATO Defense College (NDC) has commended Morocco’s role as a “strategic and trusted partner” for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

The comment was made by the Alliance’s premier academic institution on its X account on the occasion of a working visit paid to the Kingdom over the weekend by a high-level NDC delegation.

During this visit, the NDC mission, led by Commandant and Lt. General Max NIELSEN, met in Rabat separately with M. Lahjomri Abdeljalil, Perpetual Secretary of the Royal Academy and Director of the Royal College, Brigadier-General Youssef El Mehdi, Head of the Military History Directorate, General Mohamed Gle Gadih, Inspector of the Royal Moroccan Air Force, and Colonel Major Lahcen El Hajjami, Director of the Royal College of Higher Military Education.

Discussion focused on ways of strengthening mediterranean dialogue and academic partnership. According to NDC, talks fostered in-depth dialogue on academic approaches, strengthened collaboration between NDC and the Royal College of Higher Military Education.

Based in Rome, NDC is the Alliance’s top academic and research institution, focused on developing strategic-level leadership for civilian and military officials. Its mission is to foster strategic thinking, multinational consensus-building, and “human interoperability” among NATO member states and partners.

It offers flagship courses and programs for senior officers on MENA security issues and provides strategic analysis for NATO leadership in addition to high-level networking and security policy sessions.
